Wilma is a committed and highly knowledgeable Ohio legal assistant who works directly with Columbus, Springfield, and Lima workers compensation lawyer, Jim Monast on a constant basis. While she focuses on workers’ compensation cases at Monast Law Office, throughout her career she has gained extensive Ohio legal experience working with bankruptcy, family law, criminal law, and personal injury cases.
At Monast Law Office, she is in daily contact with clients, physician’s offices, the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC), the Industrial Commission, and Managed Care Organizations (MCO). Wilma assists clients with processing paperwork, answering questions about their case and status, and addresses any problem or concern.
She also schedules permanent partial disability (PPD) exams, updates hearing schedules, sends notices to clients for hearings. Wilma also files appeals and motions, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) appeals, and Medco-14, C84 and C9’s when appropriate.
Wilma was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. She has been married for 25 years and has seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She is an avid Ohio State University fan, and attends every home game. When she is not hard at work on Ohio legal cases, she watches the New York Yankees, her favorite baseball team. Candidly, she still has not recovered from Derek Jeter's retirement in 2014–nor, apparently, have the Yankees.
